How logo design sort of…found us.
Clients who had no logo would show up wanting a website (not to mention - no business cards, letterhead, envelopes, etc). Or they'd show up with a logo they'd gotten a "great deal" on, then decided they hated it - after they'd printed business cards, letterheads, envelopes, etc. Because designing a website around a poorly-designed logo is the fastest way to turn a great job into a chore, we'd throw some alternatives their way, and found out we weren't half bad at it. It takes a lot of the same kind of thinking that creating a website does.We also learned that "corporate identity" is more than just a fancy phrase for logo design. Designing business materials is an art in itself - there's a formidable set of skills required for print work alone. So when a request comes in for diecuts, embossing, banners, car wraps, skywriting, etc. we're more than happy to call in people who know what they're doing. Over the years we've assembled quite a team (still looking for the right skywriting partner).
